The Aeroflot Group will focus primarily on the domestic MC-21 aircraft. This was announced in an interview by the airline's CEO Sergei Alexandrovsky.
According to him, the company is not afraid that the domestic aircraft may have "childhood diseases" at first.
The fact that we will face them is a natural situation. Of course, therefore, our proposal will require additional analysis, more thorough from the point of view of the rhythm of deliveries, from the point of view of characteristics, and so on. But we see this as an opportunity to improve the characteristics of the aircraft.
He clarified that the company will increase the fleet in stages, and will not receive "100 new aircraft" at once. The CEO of the Aeroflot Group also stated that the airline "needs an efficient aircraft."
It should be an aircraft that is comfortable for the passenger, efficient for the carrier, because we will have to compete with this aircraft, including in international markets. We are not limited to domestic transportation only, we will face competition with Аirbus 320, with Boeing 737, with Boeing 737 Max.
