Nothing to buy: Russian airlines left without new aircraft due to the unavailability of MC-21 and SJ-100

The airliners have not passed the necessary tests

Currently, air carriers in Russia are facing the problem of acquiring new domestically produced aircraft.

The reason is the absence on the market of MC-21 and SSJ New models equipped with local engines, which have not yet received certificates and have not passed the necessary tests, said Viktor Gorbachev, a member of the Public Council under Rostransnadzor.

Earlier, Rostec supported the idea of a complete transition to Russian aviation equipment. However, Gorbachev noted that the requirement to purchase new aircraft is impossible due to their actual absence on the market.

Before receiving an airworthiness certificate, an aircraft must fly a certain number of hours without breakdowns and failures. There are practically no Il-114s and Tu-204s either.

Gorbachev added that in four to five years, Russia should completely abandon the use of foreign airliners.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Tu-160 "White Swan" bomber and the Soviet Tu-144 will become the basis for a new supersonic Russian airliner.
