Development of Parts for PD-14 Aircraft Engine Accelerated by Russian Software "KOMPAS-Composites"

UEC Implements Domestic CAD System for Designing Composite Components of Aircraft Engines

Specialists from the United Engine Corporation (UEC, part of Rostec) have successfully applied the Russian software "KOMPAS-Composites" for designing parts of the PD-14 aircraft engine made of polymer composites. The development by ASCON allows optimizing the process of creating lightweight and durable components, which are critical for modern aircraft construction.

"KOMPAS-Composites" is the first Russian CAD system specialized in working with polymer composites. It provides accurate modeling of the material structure, analysis of its behavior during production, and automated defect elimination. At UEC-Aviadvigatel (Perm), it has already been used to create an experimental sample of a part for the PD-14 — a promising engine for civil aviation.

The "KOMPAS-Composites" system has become an example of successful collaboration between UEC and the Russian IT company "ASCON". The created CAD system has all the necessary functions for designing aircraft engine parts made of polymer composite materials. The system has already demonstrated high efficiency at the UEC-Aviadvigatel enterprise. Its application in UEC design bureaus will ensure technological sovereignty in engine construction.

The project was implemented with the support of the RFRIT (Russian Fund for the Development of Information Technologies) as part of the industrial software import substitution program. "KOMPAS-Composites" operates on ASCON's own algorithms and does not depend on foreign analogues.

The system is presented at the CIPR-2025 conference in Nizhny Novgorod, where Rostec traditionally acts as a strategic partner.
