"Tank Sneaks Up to Positions": Uralvagonzavod Reveals Advantages of Gas Turbine Engine for T-80BVM

Power unit starts easily in any weather

The "heart" of the T-80BVM tank is a gas turbine engine, which allows the vehicle to literally sneak up to enemy positions. This was stated by the Uralvagonzavod concern (part of Rostec).

If an ordinary diesel engine of a tank can be heard from afar, in the case of a gas turbine engine, the sound is difficult to distinguish. You can hear a whistle, but it is not clear where it comes from - the tank can come from any side.

This engine is more powerful and starts up perfectly in any weather.

T-80BVM is a modern version of the Soviet T-80 tank. Thanks to the modernization, its main combat qualities have increased - firepower, mobility, protection and command controllability.

The T-80BVM engine works perfectly in the most severe frost, can start at a temperature of minus 40 degrees, accelerate in a straight line at high speed, make record jumps and spectacular turns. The updated T-80BVMs have been entering the Russian army since 2017. The tank meets all modern requirements and has proven itself well in operation in various climatic conditions.
