Russian multirole fighters Su-30SM generation 4++ successfully hit unmanned aerial vehicles. This was reported by a military expert Alexey Voevoda.
According to him, during sorties to suppress UAV flights, pilots destroy up to 10 targets. At the same time, such interceptions can be carried out at different times of the day - both at night and at dawn.
Domestic aircraft are equipped with radar stations with phased arrays capable of detecting low-flying, low-speed targets made of composite materials. During such a hunt, a large assistance is also provided by onboard optoelectronic systems.
Air-to-air missiles of various types are capable of effectively interrupting the flights of border violators at different distances. Also used 30-mm gun GSh-301 with ammunition of 150 rounds.
The Ministry of Defense of Belarus stated that Russia next week will transfer to the republic fully import-substituted Su-30SM2.
