Su-30SM fighters promised to Belarus sent to shoot down drones: 10 per sortie

Aircraft crews use air-to-air missiles and a GSh-301 cannon

Russian multirole Su-30SM generation 4++ fighters successfully engage unmanned aerial vehicles. This was reported by military expert Alexey Voevoda.

According to him, during sorties to suppress UAV flights, pilots destroy up to 10 targets. Moreover, such interceptions can be carried out at different times of the day - both at night and at dawn.

Domestic aircraft are equipped with phased array radar stations capable of detecting low-flying, low-speed targets made of composite materials. During such a hunt, onboard optical-location systems also provide great assistance.

Air-to-air missiles of various types are capable of effectively interrupting the flights of border violators at various distances. A 30-mm GSh-301 cannon with 150 rounds of ammunition is also used.

The Ministry of Defense of Belarus stated that Russia will transfer fully import-substituted Su-30SM2s to the republic next week.

Earlier www1.ru reported that new Tor-M2 air defense systems are being adapted to destroy kamikaze drones.
