Russia has begun work on creating the first supersonic aircraft in the history of domestic civil aviation. Mikhail Tyaglik, a senior researcher at the "Flight Simulators" laboratory and an expert at the Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI), spoke about the main requirements for the aircraft.
According to him, special requirements are imposed on aircraft today in terms of stability, controllability, and dynamics. Therefore, modern control systems are being created that take on a number of functions.
And modern aircraft, including supersonic ones, despite the fact that they have a very wide range of speeds at which they behave differently, will be equipped with such systems that provide good dynamic properties throughout the entire speed range.
He noted that systems sometimes have a tendency to fail, so algorithms are provided that would adapt to failures and even in the event of a failure would provide acceptable control dynamics. A lot of work is being done on this now.
SSJ-100, the promising MC-21 are equipped with modern control systems. It's just that in supersonic aircraft they will take another step, since they fly in a wider range of speeds. Also, they have features in takeoff and landing modes: the control system additionally compensates for the shortcomings inherent in supersonic aircraft.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russia in aviation will be able to do with its own developments. We didn't copy, we made it better.
