The high-speed passenger catamaran "Fort Obruchev" (project 04580 "Kotlin") was launched in St. Petersburg at the Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.
"Fort Obruchev" is an enclosed twin-hull flush-deck vessel with a superstructure and a wheelhouse in the bow. The catamaran is propelled by a twin-shaft diesel unit. The vessel accommodates up to 197 passengers.
The catamaran of project 04580 is designed for high-speed passenger transportation in the Gulf of Finland, coastal areas and inland waterways of class "R" and "O" without restrictions.
