The Russian Maritime Register of Shipping has certified TSZ-2500/10-OM4 type three-phase dry-type power transformers for installation on universal nuclear-powered icebreakers of Project 22220. The equipment is manufactured by Electrophysica in St. Petersburg.
The electric propulsion system, including TSZ-2500/10-OM4 type transformers, plays an important role in the power supply of propulsion electric motors, the uninterrupted operation of which is significant during the operation of icebreakers.
Transformer characteristics TSZ-2500/10-OM4:
- Power — 2500 kVA,
- Nominal voltage — 10kV
- Increased resistance to vibrations and temperature changes
- Reliability in operating conditions on nuclear icebreakers
- Increased fire safety
Project 22220 nuclear icebreakers "Arktika" are being built at the Baltic Shipyard for FSUE Atomflot of the Rosatom State Corporation. The vessels are intended for operation on the Northern Sea Route.
