The Russian diesel-electric submarine (DES) of project 636.3, code "Varshavyanka", presumably "Krasnodar", passed through the Gulf of Finland. The footage appeared on social networks.
The submarine was accompanied by a convoy of warships - the minesweeper "Lev Chernavin" of project 12700 and a number of auxiliary ships, the type of which has not yet been specified.
"Krasnodar" became the hero of foreign media the day before, which reported onthe "interception" of the submarine by the British Navy (Navy).
The Russian Navyissued an official refutation of the information that the submarine was allegedly "intercepted" by the British Navy. The Navy emphasized that Russian combat submarines perform combat training tasks in the world's oceans, and "it is impossible to intercept them."
The DES of project 636.3 is designed to destroy enemy submarines, surface ships and vessels, patrol, guard communications in the near sea zone and conduct reconnaissance. The main armament of submarines is the Kalibr-PL missile system.
