Russian soldiers installed a 30-mm automatic cannon from a BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicle on a D-44 gun carriage in the back of a UAZ truck. The footage has appeared online.
The 2A42 is an automatic cannon designed for installation on a wide variety of platforms. Depending on the ammunition used, the combat module is capable of engaging personnel, armored and unarmored vehicles, as well as aircraft. The weight without ammunition is 115 kg, the total length of the gun is more than 3 m.
The gun is equipped with a well-developed two-chamber muzzle brake and a rifled 30 mm caliber barrel, which is fixed in a complex-shaped receiver containing all the main units and parts. The barrel is locked by turning the bolt, and a shot is fired when fully locked.
