The Cuban authorities will oblige all hotels, shops and retail outlets to accept cards of the Russian payment system "Mir". This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Tourism of the country, Juan Carlos Garcia Granda, at the FITCuba-2025 fair in Havana.
Currently, about 20 thousand hotels and retail outlets in Cuba accept Mir cards. Soon they will be able to pay for goods and services anywhere.
Juan Carlos Garcia Granda explained that some facilities ignore the authorities' decision and refuse Russian "plastic".
Those who refuse to comply with our condition will not be able to carry out their activities.
In 2024, Cuba was visited by 182 thousand Russian tourists. This year, the authorities expect even more travelers from the Russian Federation.
