In Antalya, it is now possible to pay for a trip in Yandex Taxi with a Mir card. Russian users of Yandex Taxi have noticed that payments from Russian cards are successfully processed.
Yandex Taxi launched in Turkey in mid-December 2024 in test mode, starting operations in three cities at once - Antalya, Istanbul, and Ankara. At the start, it was only possible to pay for the trip in cash with lira or with a foreign card through the driver's terminal. The option to pay with a Mir card was previously unavailable.
The service offered large discounts to passengers and compensated the difference to taxi drivers. For example, if a trip cost 266 lira, the driver received 380 lira due to surcharges from the platform. Abuses were also common: taxi drivers could demand a higher fare from customers.
The payment system has now changed: the cost of the trip is first calculated approximately, and the final amount is debited at the end of the trip directly in the Yandex Go application. This reduces the risk of manipulation by drivers and makes payment more convenient for users.
