Belarusian company Integration Distribution Projects has developed the first automated pharmacy based on software from the Russian company Smart Engines. Medications can be purchased from the robot pharmacist at the train station in Minsk.
The automated pharmacy is a transparent kiosk with shelves. The customer uses a touchscreen to select a drug, scans their passport to confirm their age (over 14 years), and pays for the purchase.
The robot pharmacist finds the drug and dispenses it through a special window. Currently, more than 300 over-the-counter drugs are available for purchase.
The key component of the system is Smart ID Engine software based on artificial intelligence (AI). The neural network recognizes documents (passports, driver's licenses) issued in different countries around the world. The system does not store personal data of customers, so there is no risk of leakage.
