The enterprise of the United Engine Corporation (UEC) "UEC-Saturn" in the Yaroslavl region is preparing for the serial production of the latest aviation PD-8 engine. This was reported by the press service of the corporation.
Flight tests of the Superjet aircraft with the PD-8 are underway in accordance with the planned schedule.
The state corporation noted that the PD-8 could potentially receive the Be-200 amphibious aircraft. In addition, UEC specialists are working to create a domestic power plant based on the PD-8 for heavy transport helicopters.
The experience of creating a more powerful PD-14 engine was used in the development of the power plant. To speed up the certification of the PD-8, computer modeling methods were used.
Earlier www1.ru reported that photos of two newly built Su-57 fighters appeared on the Web.
