In the spring of 2025, the Russian brand "Moskvich" plans to start selling its new flagship crossover, the "Moskvich 8". Despite the official sales start date not yet being announced, several units of the model have already been registered with the traffic police. The manufacturer has not yet explained how the cars were registered before the official deliveries began.
"Moskvich 8" is a family crossover with a spacious interior and three rows of seats. The car's dimensions are 4825 x 1870 x 1758 mm, and the wheelbase is 2830 mm, which is comparable to the Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento models. The model is based on the Chinese JAC X8; in China, it is already available in hybrid versions, but for the Russian market, only a modification with a gasoline internal combustion engine has been announced so far.
The crossover will be front-wheel drive and will receive a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with a capacity of 174 hp, working in tandem with a seven-speed robotic gearbox. The manufacturer already has finished cars in stock, but, according to available data, is in no hurry to start official sales. It is expected that the price of the new product will be from 2.8 to 3 million rubles, but the exact configurations and start date of implementation remain unknown.
