More Dramatic Than Lada? "Moskvich" Car Sales Plunge 2.5 Times

In March 2025, 1,200 "Moskvich" cars were sold. In total, 3,400 cars of this brand were sold in the first quarter.

In March 2024, the "Autostat" analytical agency reported that sales of cars of this brand amounted to almost three thousand units. This means that sales have fallen by 2.5 times.

According to the manufacturer, "Moskvich" was able to maintain its market share in the first quarter at the level of 2024, despite the fact that passenger car sales decreased by 25%.

Currently, the "Moskvich" model range is represented by two models: the compact crossover "Moskvich 3" and its electric version "Moskvich 3e", as well as the liftback "Moskvich 6". Another model is expected to appear soon - the seven-seater crossover "Moskvich 8".

Earlier, AvtoVAZ reportedon a dramatic drop in sales: the number of Lada passenger cars and light commercial vehicles sold in March decreased by 33%. A total of 28,699 cars were sold.

Later, the head of AvtoVAZ, Maxim Sokolov,explained the dramatic drop in sales of new cars in March and the first quarter of 2025. According to him, dealers, seeking to sell off excess inventory, began to offer unprecedented discounts on previously imported foreign models, which increased pressure on domestic manufacturers.
