The United Engine Corporation (UEC) explained the operation of the "heart of the engine" - thecombustion chamber, in which heat is supplied to the working fluid (air).
After the compressor, before the combustion chamber, the compressed air is divided into two streams - primary and secondary.
Primary air under high pressure enters the main combustion chamber, where it forms a fuel-air mixture after mixing with fuel injected through the nozzles of the main fuel system. The mixture is ignited by a spark from the spark plugs. The burning fuel increases the temperature of the mixture. The resulting gas flow enters the turbine blades and rotates it.
Secondary air enters the chamber through holes in the walls of the combustion chamber's flame tube and creates a cooling layer between the chamber walls and the high-temperature flow.
This is necessary to prevent the walls from deforming due to the high temperatures of the working fluid - 2400-2600 degrees Kelvin. Secondary air allows maintaining the wall temperature at around 1020-1220 degrees Kelvin (about 2300 degrees Celsius).
The gas flow escaping from the combustion chamber moves at a higher speed than the air flow approaching the engine. The gas not only rotates the turbine but also creates thrust.
