The construction of an interactive technology museum based on the legendary Soviet Tu-144 supersonic airliner has been completed in the capital of Tatarstan. The complex, with an area of 1,700 sq. m, is designed for 40 guests per session, and will be able to receive up to 20 thousand people annually.
The installation of expositions will begin in May, specialists have recreated the cockpit, the workplaces of the flight engineer and navigator, as well as part of the cabin - so that every visitor feels like a passenger of the world's first supersonic civil aircraft.
The museum will feature 11 thematic stands decorated in an aviation style, which will house eight original seats, tables and portholes from the business class fuselage. Video content stylized as newspapers of the era will be broadcast through the portholes.
The project started in 2017, when the training Tu-144 was transported to a new KNITU-KAI site. In 2020, the idea was supported by the President of Russia, and construction began in 2021.
