Rostec continues active marketing efforts by aircraft manufacturers and airlines for the production of MC-21, Superjet-100, and Tu-214 aircraft. Currently, 200 aircraft are either under contract or have guaranteed buyers with money available, according to the head of the state corporation, Sergey Chemezov.
Chemezov previously announced this figure on the sidelines of the congress of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
The head of the state corporation reminded that there are framework agreements with airlines for several hundred aircraft, but there is also a really confirmed demand.
It reflects how much the airlines really intend to buy - not just in words, but in deeds. To build an aircraft, there must be a customer with money. The 200 aircraft I mentioned include already contracted volumes, as well as aircraft for which firm contracts are highly likely to be concluded.
Earlier, Rostec reported that the MC-21 airliner was given the task of competing with Boeing and Airbus.
