The Government of the Sakhalin Region and the State Air Traffic Management Corporation (OrVD, part of Rosaviatsiya) have determined the locations for the placement of 9 landing sites for unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as the order of their equipment and commissioning.
In addition to representatives of the authorities and OrVD, the working group for the implementation of the project included the companies "Aerolink", "Aurora-BAS", SPC "Wings of Sakhalin".
UAV landing sites will appear in the following settlements:
- Yuzhno-Kurilsk
- Kurilsk
- Severo-Kurilsk
- Pushisty
- Poronaysk
- Shakhtyorsk
- Aleksandrovsk-Sakhalinsky
- Nogliki
- Okha
Sakhalin is actively forming its own UAV market. The scientific and production center for unmanned aerial systems "Wings of Sakhalin" (Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk) produces UAVs for educational purposes, as well as special-purpose drones. The design bureau is engaged in designing new types of UAVs.
