Scientists from the Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) have developed a unique technology for a penetrating impact probe (penetrator) for Venus. The product has passed flight tests, and the descent and effective penetration into the soil are being modeled.
Currently, scientists are solving the problem of low speeds when approaching the surface and modeling the movement of the probe under various factors to study the perfection of the design and the stability of the device.
The technology is innovative. There are similar theoretical developments in the world, but so far there are no copies that have passed flight tests. The development will also be useful for studying other planets and satellites with an atmosphere.
The probe is designed to collect and transmit primary scientific information about the physical and chemical composition of the soil of the studied planets from Venus to Earth. The obtained material is collected in a container, after which it is analyzed using onboard scientific equipment and data is transmitted to the orbital vehicle.
