A scientific and production center for unmanned aerial systems (SPC UAS) will appear in the Omsk region. The authorities will allocate about 19 million rubles for these purposes, said the head of the region, Vitaly Khotsenko.
The SPC UAS will be engaged in the development, as well as pilot and serial production of drones.
The new structure will ensure the presence in the region of a unique platform that allows you to combine and synchronize the actions of authorities and private organizations and get a synergistic effect in the development of UAS.
In November 2024, Khotsenko announced that the Baranov Omsk Engine-Building Association would establish the production of small-sized turbojet engines for drones. The project will be implemented within 1.5 years.
