The Russian military has begun receiving T-72B3M tanks with improved "Relikt" dynamic protection installed on the upper frontal hull detail. The footage appeared online.

Dynamic protection uses the principle of a directed explosion of an explosive charge on a projectile hitting the vehicle in order to reduce its penetration ability and the damage it causes.
"Relikt" is distinguished by its high maintainability, which is achieved by its modular design. The use of a new explosive composition made it possible to increase the reliability and efficiency of the dynamic protection system against armor-piercing fin-stabilized discarding sabot projectiles.
