Footage has appeared online of a motorcycle that craftsmen have turned into a powerful mobile weapon thanks to the installation of a large-caliber Vladimirov tank machine gun (KPVT) in the sidecar.
In the photo, you can see that they had to slightly rework the sidecar and reinforce it to cushion the strong recoil during shooting. It can also be assumed, given the size of the barrel, that the fighters mainly use the novelty only from a stationary position, and not on the move.
KPVT is a powerful automatic weapon installed on armored vehicles, combat boats, mobile and stationary installations. The machine gun is designed to combat lightly armored targets and enemy personnel located behind light cover, as well as low-flying aerial targets.
For firing at ground and air targets, cartridges with armor-piercing incendiary tracer bullets BZT, armor-piercing incendiary bullets B-32 and instantaneous action incendiary bullets MDZ are used. Cartridges are fed into the receiver from a metal belt.
Main characteristics of KPVT:
- Weight - 52.2 kg
- Technical rate of fire - 550-600 rounds/min
- Combat rate of fire - 70-80 rounds/min
- Sighting range: for air targets - 1500 m, for ground targets - 2000 m
- Barrel cooling - air
- Length - 1980 mm
Earlier www1.ru reported that a unique 7.62-mm Nikitin-Sokolov machine gun was spotted among Russian soldiers.
