Production of TVD-10 aircraft engines for An-2 "Kukuruznik" aircraft will be launched in Russia. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Anton Alikhanov.
In Omsk, there are attempts to remotorize the An-2 aircraft, making it turboprop. As part of the modernization of the aircraft, it is proposed to install the TVD-10B engine on it — a modification of the TVD-10 turboprop engine developed back in 1965.
We have a project to resume production of TVD-10 engines. They can be used for the remotorization of the An-2 and, in the future, for the modernization of these aircraft.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Siberian Research Institute of Aviation (SibNIA) named after S.A. Chaplygin plans to obtain a prototype of the "Kukuruznik" with a TVD-10B engine by the summer of this year.
