Russian kamikaze drones with fiber optic cable control have begun to be equipped with a thermobaric warhead from the RPO-A "Shmel" reactive infantry flamethrower. Footage has appeared online.
The images show a quadcopter with a coil of fiber optic cable, which has received the "Shmel" warhead.
The thermobaric warhead has turned the drone into a mini-"Solntsepek", which also uses thermobaric ammunition.
The "Shmel" carries a capsule with a fire mixture weighing 2.1 kg. Upon detonation, a high-temperature impulse is accompanied by a sharp pressure drop, and the affected area in open terrain is at least 50 m².
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Forpost-RU drone will receive small-sized radars for guiding Kalibr missiles and loitering munitions.
