UAZ Refuses to Discontinue the Legendary "Loaf" Production

The company stated that this model's era is not over yet

Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant (UAZ) has refuted media reports about plans to discontinue the production of the SGR family commercial vehicle, known as UAZ-452 "Loaf."

"The 'Loaf' is certainly not young, but its era is not over yet."
UAZ

The current "Loaf" is a modernized version of the UAZ-452, which began production in 1966. The 452, in turn, is unified in many body elements with the UAZ-450 model of 1958.

In its basic configuration, the car is equipped with a ZMZ-40911 2.7L gasoline engine producing 112 hp. The power unit is combined with a 5-speed manual transmission and a part-time all-wheel drive, and there is a reduction gear.

In the near future, the legendary model will undergo re-certification and receive a new Vehicle Type Approval (OTTS). According to plans, the document will record an engine of the "Euro-5" environmental class, with a capacity of 112.2 hp and 213 Nm of torque. This is 15 Nm more than the previous version of the "Euro-2" engine, which will make the model not only more environmentally friendly, but also more productive.
