Vice President of the National Automobile Union, Yan Khaitseer, stated that the UAZ "Loaf" is incompatible with today's times and safety. He believes that such a car should be recognized as special equipment, and it should not be moved on public roads.
This is an economic vehicle that should be registered with the technical supervision authority, but not go on modern roads.
The expert believes that Russians buy UAZ due to the lack of alternatives, because they cannot afford a similar car of foreign production. Khaitseer noted that the choice is between expensive SUVs from unfriendly countries and the "Loaf."
Note that UAZ SGR (as this car is actually called) became the most popular UAZ model since the beginning of 2024. 6.68 thousand units were purchased.
The "Loaf" platform is almost 60 years old. It is a restyling of the UAZ-450 model, which has been assembled since 1965. The car does not have airbags or ABS or ESP systems.
