Сроки строительства ледокола проекта 21900М2 мощностью 18 МВт продлены до 2028 года

Contract Value Increased from 10.5 to 17.84 Billion Rubles

The Russian government has changed the key terms of the state contract for the construction of the Project 21900M2 icebreaker with a capacity of 18 MW, Icebreaker7 ice class, for the seaports of the Baltic Basin. The completion date has been extended to November 30, 2028, and the contract value has increased to more than 17.84 billion rubles.

The keel-laying ceremony for the icebreaker of FSUE "Rosmorport" took place on November 16, 2022, at the Vyborg Shipyard (part of USC). The linear diesel-electric icebreaker of Project 21900M2 is being built at the expense of the federal budget. The work is being carried out within the framework of the national project "Transport part of the comprehensive plan for the modernization and expansion of the main infrastructure".

The first similar icebreaker for Rosmorport was built at OJSC "Leningrad Shipyard "Pella" and was supposed to operate in the waters of the Far Eastern Basin. The contract for its construction was signed in 2019 for 7.54 billion rubles, with a planned delivery date in 2024. However, due to financial difficulties at the German site of the Pella plant, the contract was terminated.
