The universal nuclear icebreaker Yakutia, Project 22220, built at the Baltic Shipyard USC, has completed its sea trials. This was reported by the corporation's press service.
Specialists from the Baltic Shipyard USC, together with the icebreaker's crew and representatives of contractors, checked the icebreaker's speed qualities, its maneuverability characteristics, the operation of mechanisms and equipment, electric propulsion, communication and navigation systems, automation systems, tested the steam turbine unit, propeller shaft operation, and deck machinery - anchor and steering gear.
The nuclear-powered ship is currently moored at the embankment of the Baltic Shipyard USC on the Neva River. In the near future, the company's specialists will complete the adjustment of the ship's systems and prepare it for delivery to the customer.
