In 2024, Roskomnadzor prevented over 10.9 thousand DDoS attacks and blocked about 30 thousand phishing sites. This is seven times more than the year before.
In 2024, the most powerful DDoS attack on hosting provider resources was recorded. Its power was 2.38 terabits per second, and the speed reached 210 million packets per second.
The attack on the telecom operator's resources was the longest. It lasted 108 hours 24 minutes, which is approximately equal to 4.5 days.
According to the agency, in 2024, 217 resources that distributed malicious software were blocked. This is 4.5 times more than in 2023. During the same period, specialists eliminated 8.3 thousand violations in traffic routing.
Currently, the Monitoring Center ensures the security of more than 6 thousand resources belonging to 869 organizations. Among them are large state and private companies, telecommunications organizations, media outlets, banks, and critical information infrastructure facilities. At the same time, the number of organizations connected to the CMU system continues to increase.
In October of last year, StormWall specialists identified serious DDoS attacks targeting Russian hosting providers. The maximum power of the attacks carried out through the discovered botnet reached a record 1.5 Tbit/s for Russia.
Most often, attacks came from IP addresses belonging to countries such as Ukraine, Romania, Singapore, the USA, China, and Hong Kong. The majority of attacks (62%) came from IP addresses located in the States.
Earlier it became known that Roskomnadzor is going to restrict access to services in Russia for eight foreign hosting providers, including GoDaddy.com LLC, Amazon Web Services Inc., and HostGator.com LLC.
