Lighting devices in the Philips Hue smart home system can no longer be controlled via speakers with voice assistants "Alice", "Salyut", and "Marusya". Access to the Philips Hue mobile application is also limited. When trying to log in, a message appears stating that the password is incorrect, but it is impossible to change or recover it.
Users from Russia still have the option to control Philips Hue lamps using Apple's voice assistant — Siri, Apple smart speakers, smart home hub control panels, or Bluetooth remotes, if the Philips Hue device supports this protocol.
Since 2022, after the introduction of sanctions, it has become impossible to add new Philips Hue devices to smart home applications with Russian voice assistants. However, devices that were added earlier continued to function as usual.
Earlier, Neuro.net, together with the "Position" center, conducted a study among residents of million-plus cities to find out how Russians feel about voice robots that work on company hotlines. The survey showed that more than 40% of respondents prefer the robot to communicate with them in a calm tone. For most Russians (34%), politeness in the robot's voice is the most attractive characteristic.
