Two extremely high-class flares occurred on the Sun on Monday. This was reported at the Institute of Applied Geophysics (FSBI "IPG").
On December 30 at 07:14 Moscow time, an X1.5 flare with a duration of 37 minutes was recorded in the X-ray range in group of spots 3936 (N10W46). At 07:32 Moscow time, an X1.1 flare with a duration of 5 minutes was recorded in the X-ray range in group of spots 3932 (S18W50).
Since the beginning of the year, solar activity has already manifested itself with great force. Flares were also recorded during the New Year holidays, and on January 1, a large X5.0 flare was recorded, occurring just half an hour after the chimes in Moscow. Two more major bursts of solar activity were detected in May and October of this year.
