Before the New Year, Russians began to actively update household appliances and electronics, which led to a noticeable increase in sales in the home goods segment.
According to M.Video-Eldorado, one of the most popular products was TVs. Models with a diagonal of 32–38 inches are especially in demand, sales of which increased by 39%, as well as larger TVs with a diagonal of 66 inches, demand for which increased by 34%. These devices are often purchased in order to create a comfortable and cozy atmosphere for family evenings and holiday viewing.
In addition, Russians are actively purchasing subscriptions to movie and music services, which indicates a growing interest in digital entertainment. Sales of these services increased by 7.7%.
Demand for household appliances has also increased significantly. For example, sales of combined stoves increased by 51.2%, and electric stoves by 19.3%. Built-in appliances have become popular: their sales increased by 13%. In particular, built-in refrigerators and freezers are especially popular, whose sales increased by 46%. This is due to the need to store food for New Year's feasts.
