Alexey Yuretsky, CEO of Geoscan, spoke about the drone manufacturer's work under sanctions.
Geoscan was sanctioned by the US in June 2024.
We were expecting them earlier. And when we found out about this "award," the first thing we did was call all the suppliers and ask what awaited us. We were reassured: "You are not the first, nor the last." But the fact is that previously we always strived to directly reach the component manufacturers, to discuss the technical characteristics we needed with them. Before 2022, for example, we worked directly with a (foreign - ed.) electric motor manufacturer who refined their products for us. Since then, direct chains have been disrupted, and with the introduction of sanctions, difficulties have arisen with direct contacts as well. We had to look for intermediaries. All this turned out to be surmountable, but it took time to rebuild.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Geoscan provides 40% of the state civil order for drones.
