The Ministry of Transport of Russia has prepared a document with a new procedure for charging for air transportation. It will come into force on September 1, 2025. The document stipulates the possibility for a passenger to keep their return ticket if they are late for the flight. Let's tell you more.
Currently, if a passenger has purchased a round-trip ticket and is late for the flight, airlines can cancel the entire order. From next year, this practice will be abolished — the return ticket will remain with the passenger. At the same time, the amount of the fee for canceling the transportation or changing its conditions will be limited only to the actual expenses of the carrier.
Airlines will be required to develop and approve documents outlining their pricing principles. This requirement will make the pricing policy of carriers more transparent.
