The demand for personnel in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) in Russia is high, and the country needs to train hundreds of thousands of such specialists. This was announced by Daria Kozlova, Director of Yandex Education, on the sidelines of the IV Congress of Young Scientists on the federal territory of Sirius.
According to her, the demand for personnel in artificial intelligence cannot be measured with one yardstick. We need researchers-creators, and we need from 300 to 500 of these graduates per year.
Next, we need developers of artificial intelligence technologies. These are the ones who will take the created new ideas and then build development around them. We need about 10 thousand of these per year. But then there is another category of specialists who know how to apply artificial intelligence in different fields - in agriculture, chemistry, and so on - we need hundreds of thousands of them.
Kozlova recalled that Yandex, together with its partners, launched the first AI360 program in Russia, which aims to train world-class AI technology creators. The main task of the program is to train creators and researchers, not users of artificial intelligence technology.
The IV Congress of Young Scientists is taking place on the federal territory of Sirius on November 27-29. The organizers define it as the largest platform for dialogue between fundamental and advanced science, the real sector of the economy and state authorities.
