БМЗ запустит серийное производство тепловозов ТЭМ23

10 New Locomotives to be Delivered to the Market by the End of 2024

Bryansk Machine-Building Plant (BMZ) will establish serial production of TEM23 locomotives. By the end of this year, 10 trains of this model will enter the market, according to the company's press service.

The four-axle, two-diesel TEM23 locomotive was developed in the early 2020s as a functional replacement for the TEM18DM and was certified in 2022. In 2023, prototypes were tested by industrial enterprises and Russian Railways, but against the backdrop of the changed geopolitical situation, additional import substitution measures were required to transition to serial production.

The updated TEM23 is equipped with an engine from KAMAZ with Russian fuel equipment and an electronic control unit. The power of the traction generator has been increased from 315 to 400 kW. Automatic circuit breakers and cable products have also been replaced.

The locomotive is 100% made of domestic components.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that in Rostov the VL82M electric locomotive was repaired.
