The Rostov Electric Locomotive Repair Plant (RERZ, part of Zheldorremmash JSC) has completed the overhaul of the VL82M electric locomotive. The unique locomotive will be used on the Oktyabrskaya Railway as part of the Father Frost tourist route!
The VL82M electric locomotive arrived at the plant in December 2023 for major repair and restoration work. For this purpose, technological documentation was developed and the necessary equipment and tools were manufactured. Specialists repaired all units and assemblies (body, bogies, traction motors, traction transformer, auxiliary machines and electrical equipment).
The locomotive design was equipped with "KLUB-U" safety systems, train heating, fire alarm and automatic fire extinguishing, as well as an air conditioning system for the driver's cab.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Elmashremont-Chelyabinsk started repairing engines for 2ES4K and 3ES4K "Donchak" freight electric locomotives.
