The "High-Precision Systems" holding (part of the Rostec State Corporation) has sent a batch of tracked all-terrain vehicles to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Vorkuta Integrated Emergency Rescue Center. They will help rescuers perform work in harsh Arctic conditions.
Each TM-140 all-terrain vehicle weighs 15 tons and has a carrying capacity of up to 4 tons and a range of 550 km. It is equipped with an electromechanical steering system of the steering wheel type and a 6-speed hydromechanical gearbox, which helps to perform tasks in any road and climatic conditions, including snowstorms with zero visibility.
The peculiarity of the all-terrain vehicle is that it is equipped with a universal cargo platform on which various modules and technological equipment can be installed. For example, instead of a tented body, a manipulator unit or a fully autonomous passenger module, or a module with a locksmith workshop can be placed.
The cabin has air conditioning and a heating system, as well as sound insulation, which helps the crew to get less tired on a long journey. The all-terrain vehicle has a range of more than 500 km, it can overcome winter roads, swampy areas, 35-degree hills, and complex terrain differences.
It is worth noting that the all-terrain vehicle is completely domestic: it is assembled at the Kurganmashzavod, which is part of "High-Precision Systems".
