The first serial T-90M "Breakthrough-3" and T-72B3M tanks equipped with T-09-A6-1 "Arena-M" active protection systems have been spotted on the production lines of "Uralvagonzavod". This will provide combat vehicles and their crews with significantly higher protection against enemy hand-held anti-tank weapons, including AT4 CS HP grenade launchers, NLAW short-range ATGMs, and the L3Harris Vampire multi-purpose tactical missile system.
The main issue remains the modernization of "Arena-M" in terms of increasing the elevation sector of the detection and guidance radar, which should provide effective protection against missiles such as the FGM-148E Block I Javelin and heavy Brimstone-2 multi-purpose tactical missiles.
Also important technical detail of "Arena-M" remains the ability of the guidance radar to detect and intercept cumulative warheads of PG-7VS anti-tank grenades dropped by "Baba Yaga" hexacopters at an angle of 90 degrees.
The speed of targets hit by "Arena-M" can reach 700 m/s with the number of interceptor projectiles up to 22 - 26 units.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the Russian army reduced losses of Supercam reconnaissance drones to almost zero. UAV operators know in advance where the enemy's air defense and electronic warfare points are located.
