Specialists of the ELSIB Research and Production Association (NPO) have manufactured 2 vertical electric motors AVTs-500-6000-4UKHL4 for the multipurpose fast neutron research reactor (MBIR) under construction in Dimitrovgrad (Ulyanovsk region). This was reported in the press service of the association.
The engines have successfully passed acceptance tests. In the near future, they will be sent to Nizhny Novgorod for testing as part of the circulation pumps of the MBIR research reactor facility. The equipment is expected to be installed on the reactor in 2025.
MBIR is being created to conduct research, including new types of fuel and materials, and to solve the safety problems of nuclear power plants with fast and thermal reactors. The project is being implemented by JSC "OKBM Afrikantov" and JSC "SSC NIIAR" (part of the Rosatom State Corporation).
