Rosaviatsiya has announced the departure of one of Kamchatka's air carriers from the market: the certificate of the airline "Vityaz-Aero" for commercial air transportation has been revoked. Also, the head of Rosaviatsiya, Dmitry Yadrov, instructed the Kamchatka Interregional Territorial Administration of Rosaviatsiya to revoke Vityaz-Aero's certificates for performing aviation works and the general aviation operator certificate. These documents are not subject to restoration.
The decision to prohibit the activities of "Vityaz-Aero" was made after the crash of its Mi-8T helicopter on August 31 near the Kamchatka mountain range of the Vachkazhets volcano. The plane crash killed 22 people: three crew members and nineteen passengers. In September, specialists from Rostransnadzor and Rosaviatsiya conducted an unscheduled on-site inspection of the air carrier's activities, and, as noted in Rosaviatsiya, they revealed in it "gross violations of air legislation".
Now, subsidized passenger flights between settlements of the Kamchatka Territory, tourist and VIP transportation, and various kinds of aviation work will be carried out by another carrier: the Far Eastern "Aurora".
The airline has developed a situation where its activities pose a threat to both passengers and the specialists of Vityaz-Aero themselves. Understanding that the carrier operated flights, including on socially significant routes in Kamchatka, consultations were held with the unified Far Eastern airline Aurora, which expressed its readiness to strengthen its work within the region. The departure of Vityaz-Aero from the market should not create difficulties for local residents. Together with the government of the Kamchatka Territory, we are keeping the situation under control.
It is known that, according to data at the beginning of September, "Vityaz-Aero" had 19 Mi-8 helicopters and one Mi-2 helicopter.
