First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov, as part of a working visit to the Kazan Aviation Plant of the United Aircraft Corporation (part of Rostec), reviewed the implementation of the program for the Tu-214 civilian airliner.
The enterprise is currently undergoing large-scale reconstruction and construction work, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026.
New equipment and facilities will allow the enterprise to start mass production of civilian aircraft and ensure the construction of 20 Tu-214 aircraft per year.
Of the 24 planned facilities of the aircraft plant, nine have already been commissioned. Another 15 facilities are in varying degrees of readiness.
The Tu-214 is being demonstrated at the BRICS summit, which is taking place in the capital of Tatarstan on October 22-24.
