В Москве и крупных городах России заработает канатное такси

It will provide megacities with high mobility, help avoid traffic jams and parking difficulties

The project is being prepared by Moscow Polytech and RUSLET company (part of Vasta Discovery Group). They will develop a separate new cable transport system with fully controlled rolling stock for launching an urban ropeway taxi in Moscow and other major cities in Russia. Students and specialists of the Higher School of Electric Transport of the university will take an active part in this project.

The ropeway taxi is a hybrid of a traditional cable car, which can be seen at ski resorts, and a fully controlled system. In such a system, each cabin moves independently and autonomously, with its own drive. It is called upon demand by passengers, and helps to avoid traffic jams and parking problems in the urban environment.

This is such a "smart" rolling stock, it knows how to accelerate and brake, stop at the desired stations and open doors. Or, for example, pass by a stop that passengers do not need. And the main advantage of this transport is zero emissions, high throughput, coverage of a large area due to branching. The ropeway taxi can be quickly designed and installed at any facility, even on difficult terrains. It is suitable for areas where it is impossible to use a tram or trolleybus, but it is important to maintain environmental friendliness.
Dmitry Sidorovich, General Director of RUSLET LLC

The project will be implemented at the TverKanatDor plant in the Emmauss SEZ in the Tver region at the RUSLET production site. The timing of the appearance of the first cable urban taxis and the pilot cities where they can be seen have not yet been announced.
