The Advanced Engineering School (AES) "Engines of the Future" of the Ufa University of Science and Technology has successfully tested an electric motor for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This was reported by the press service of the government of Bashkiria.
Young scientists from the Advanced Engineering School (AES) "Engines of the Future" of the Ufa University of Science and Technology, together with specialists from LLC "ETK", are preparing to launch mass production of the highly efficient contactless electric motor for drones ED-BAS-4950/400 with a magnetic core made of soft magnetic material. The engine has confirmed its operability and resistance to adverse environmental effects.
The weight of the ED-BAS-4950/400 electric motor is 500g. Maximum power is 2700 W, rotation frequency is 7800 rpm.
According to the project authors, the engine is the first fully Russian development and has proven its competitiveness against foreign counterparts.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that in Perm, they started developing an engine for UAVs.
