В Пионерском построили пусковой комплекс Международного морского терминала

Work is underway to launch regular ferry service

The first launch complex of the International Sea Terminal has begun operations in the Kaliningrad Region (Pionersky). This was reported by Rosmorrechflot.

The launch complex includes berth No. 1 with a length of 164 meters. A coastal ramp 35 meters long, as well as water areas with navigational depths of 7.5 m and an area of 30.4 hectares. Vessels up to 191 m long can moor at the berth.

Today, we put into commercial operation the first launch complex, which will provide the possibility for ferries with ro-ro equipment to enter the remote Pionersky terminal of the Kaliningrad seaport. This will further relieve the capacity of the railway ferry complex in Baltiysk.
Roman Starovoit, Minister of Transport

The terminal successfully received the cargo-passenger ferry «Antei». It is designed to transport equipment and passengers.

During the test call, tugboat support and pilotage, as well as the organization of traffic for following onto and off the ferry, were worked out. Currently, the necessary work is being carried out to launch a regular ferry cabotage service.
Andrey Tarasenko, Head of Rosmorrechflot

Up to 94 road trains can be accommodated on two decks of a RO-PAX type ferry. The vessel is capable of carrying up to 149 passengers, with 59 cabins provided for them. The deadweight (maximum amount of cargo) of the ferry is — 7,811 MT.
