PJSC Yakovlev has developed the Yak-130M combat trainer aircraft. Military expert Roman Skomorokhov compared it to the Su-25 attack aircraft. It turned out that the new Yak in many ways surpasses the subsonic Soviet aircraft.
The comparison may seem far-fetched and strange to someone, on the one hand, the powerful and well-deserved "Rook", on the other hand, a "sparrow" on steroids and clearly with a nasty character.
It is expected that the Yak-130M will be equipped with two AI-222-25 turbofan engines with 2500 kgf each. And the Su-25SM3 flies on two R-195 turbojet engines with 4400 kgf each. At the same time, the combat trainer aircraft can reach a speed of 1050 km/h, and the attack aircraft - up to 950 km/h.
The Su-25 is equipped with the Vitebsk-25 electronic warfare system, which uses the GLONASS system to determine the location of a potential threat and transmits data to the weapon control system. Enemy targets are also tracked by the SOLT-25 optoelectronic station.
The Yak-130M will have a radar. And this is the trump card that easily beats all the advantages of the Su-25. Radar is a tactical situation, it is the ability to aim more modern weapons at targets.
The combat trainer aircraft will also receive an advanced onboard defense system. We are talking about the "President-S", which includes several stations, including a radar and laser irradiation warning station. The Yak-130M pilot will be able to monitor the air situation within a radius of 100 km.
As a result, equipped with more modern electronic equipment and weapons, the Yak-130M looks much more advantageous than the Su-25 in the future.
