The Russian Ministry of Defense has received a batch of new multi-functional Su-30SM2 fighters. This was reported by the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC).
The Irkutsk Aviation Plant of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of the Rostec State Corporation) has manufactured and handed over new multi-functional Su-30SM2 fighters to the Russian Ministry of Defense. The Irkutsk Aviation Plant is fulfilling the plan for the production of new aircraft within the framework of the state defense order in a timely manner.
The corporation added that the Su-30SM2 fighters are a further development of the aircraft in service with the Russian Aerospace Forces. The new machines received an improved complex of onboard radio-electronic equipment.
Thanks to the modernization carried out according to the technical specifications of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the combat capabilities of the aircraft have increased. In particular, the range of detection and recognition of air targets has increased. The armament of the fighters includes new high-precision means of destruction of air, ground and sea objects at a range of several hundred kilometers.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the Russian military installed the MT-12 Rapira anti-tank gun on a high-speed MT-LB tracked all-terrain vehicle. Thus, they solved the problem of transporting the gun.
