Since August 2023, 3 large enterprises of the Russian defense industry complex (DIC) have joined the «Kalashnikov» concern: Lipetsk Mechanical Plant, PJSC «Kirov Plant «Mayak» and JSC «LOMO». The decisions were made to reduce costs in the implementation of the state defense order and increase production efficiency, said the president of the concern, Alan Lushnikov.
«LOMO» is not so much about sights, but it is one of the leaders in the production of optical, optoelectronic, opto-digital and opto-mechanical devices and systems that are widely used in the manufacture of weapons, military and special equipment. Its products are also successfully integrated into high-precision products and UAVs of the concern. Just like the products of «Mayak».
Lushnikov promised to present developments with «LOMO» devices embedded in them in the near future. The company produces «Mowgli-2» and «Mowgli-2M» night vision sights for MANPADS. The devices allow you to detect a target, track it and conduct firing at any time of the day.
The head of the concern also called the Lipetsk Mechanical Plant (LMZ) a serious asset for the production and repair of armored hulls and tracked chassis of anti-aircraft missile corps. The Mytishchi Machine-Building Plant also operates in this niche, he summarized.
